July 7 Some of our favorite places

The native plant garden at the Trestle Recreation area in Cloudcroft was swarming with butterflies...

Most numerous were Checkered White, contrasting smartly with brightly colored Gaillardia, Indian Blanket

Almost a negative image is the brightly colored Skipper perched on pale Columbine.

Funereal Duskywing with her white petticoat favored the daisy.

The same Skipper with wings closed.

White Sands sparkle in the Tularosa Basin from the trail overlook.
