First of all, Happy 16th birthday to Donovan, Can't believe you are growing up so fast.
Spent the night at Cactus Rose RV just off I-20 near Gordon, Thurber, Mingus.
I would recommend this to anyone traveling I-20 and needing an easy overnight. PA rate $15. Easy off and easy on, too bad the pool wasn't heated, but during summer months would be really nice. Texas Stop sign said "Whoa", should have taken a picture.
Research told me Thurber was at on time the largest town between Ft Worth and El Paso, belonging completely to Texas and Pacific Coal Company. The only thing left is the ice plant smokestack and a neat little restaurant that serves a killer chicken fried steak.
We were on the road by 9 AM hoping for Arkansas by days end.
Bluebonnets, Paintbrush, Primrose, and numerous yellow composites all along the roadsides. The grass is really green, too.
